We therefore work hard to ensure that our operation is environmentally friendly and socially responsible from the very bottom right to the very top!




ENERGY EFFICIENCY

We have a fleet of fully electric vehicles to help us reach our carbon zero target, including when transporting meals from production sites to feeding sites, always ensuring we're travelling on the shortest routes!

We are also working hard to reduce our electricity consumption, such as steaming rather than boiling foods to save energy. We regularly review our energy usage, in order to monitor and keep it to a minimum.

Creating a culture around conserving our energy is something we're also working towards at Relish Head Office, making sure our teams are on board with our sustainable vision!



OUR INGREDIENTS

We prioritise using only locally sourced ingredients from local farms, this not only supports our local farmers but also provides us with the freshest produce whilst reducing our carbon footprint associated with transportation.

We also support the Marine Stewardship, using only sustainable fishing to protect our seas and oceans. All our suppliers are farm assured, providing us with only free range eggs, red tractor meats and fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables.

By using seasonal produce, we further minimise our carbon footprint for long-distance journeys, whilst also saving energy by reducing the need use of greenhouses!






WASTE REDUCTION

We cater for accurate numbers which means our waste is already minimal, but for any waste we do have, we promote waste saving initiatives such as our Love Food Hate Waste campaign, encouraging our schools and students to either take home any produce that would otherwise be wasted, take waste produce to local food banks, or use any waste for compost to grow their own veg, which further supports our eco-friendly ethos!



EDUCATING THE FUTURE

One of our key focuses is educating the students in our schools on sustainable food choices, helping to create a culture of environmental responsibility around food from a young age whilst also promoting healthy eating.
