If you had asked me last year what let the school down, I would say it was the lunchtime ~ the food offer was sub-standard and the children were not happy ~ it felt like it needed to be rushed to get it over and done with! And now, in the final half term of our first year with Relish, I am proud to say that lunchtime is like the rest of the school day and I enjoy it as much as everybody else does!

We engaged the services of Relish in 2012 and haven't looked back! Relish provide a comprehensive service enabling schools to take their catering in house but have the protection of a company carrying out training of staff, due diligence of suppliers and nutritionally balancing menus. They remove the greatest worries from schools and competently take on the management of catering. Since working with Relish our menus have improved significantly which has had a positive impact on take up across the whole school. The food served is of good quality and Relish are ‘hands on’ in helping catering staff with new recipes and ways in which to manage time effectively. We are delighted with the service we receive and couldn't/wouldn't be without them!

Relish couldn't be more supportive with their help, nothing is too much trouble! They set an annual budget, send out termly 3 week menus for us to check and change if we require it, then ensure it remains compliant with the School Food Standards.
When we first started we had to TUPE in the current staff and Relish were on hand for staff meetings enabling the transition to go smoothly. Once we had signed up, they assessed the staff skillsets and arranged for training as was required. We received training and an operator manual for all our legal responsibilities.
Relish arranged the set up of our food suppliers. We are confident that we always receive best value with regards to the quality and prices. We were unhappy with one supplier quite early on in the contract but I am pleased to say that Relish sourced a new supplier quickly and without fuss.
The level of support we received was extremely high at the start but now we enjoy standing on our own two feet more but are secure in the knowledge that Relish support is a phone call away should we need anything at all.
We are a very diverse community in Croydon and always manage to cater for any/all religions and food preferences.
